Offsetting in this case is b.s. What is needed is an outright ban or strict limitation on the excessive amount of travelling by athletes (hundreds of flights per season! raining down pollution on all of us). And for what? Just so advertisers can make billions and promote their consumerist, environmentally destructive agenda, using sports as a vehicle.
